Meet Chef Doc Ellis
Chef Doc has always enjoyed cooking, but it wasn't until he and his wife Ginger opened Ginger Hill Bed & Breakfast in 1992 that he was able to make it a career. He found cooking to be as creative as being a graphic artist. He attended the Coast Guard Culinary School and has taken advanced courses at the Culinary Institute of America. In his work with the Coast Guard, he has cooked on cutters and at stations. He often handles Coast Guard VIP events for Flag Officers. He is in charge of the national AUXCHEF program where he trains Coast Guard Auxiliarists to serve at stations and to assist at VIP events.
He has prepared meals and parties for families around Lake Anna, in Louisa and surrounding areas.
His focus is on good healthy meals served attractively. He is able to meet any special dietary needs.
